Hi,
I'm new to the forum - came across this forum after spending days trying to get an answer to whether the Samsung R522 has a Texas Instrument chipset.
The reason I ask, I want to hook up this laptop (although not bought one yet) to a RME FireFace 400 firewire interface. I have read that there are firewire chip compatibility issues with almost all laptops when using the Fireface 400 unless the laptop uses a TI chipset.
I cannot find out from Samsung (UK) if the R522 has such a chipset. I have also not been able to find out if I could work around the firewire issue, if I used a express card that used TI.
RME have not been able to confirm from their records if there are any compatibility issues with the Samsung R522.
Can anyone advise me?
Thanks,
Monty
