Hi I have a customer that has purchased the new 8935g and she reports the following,
Hi Mark - just dropping you an email to let you how the ACER is going. It seems OK but I have been having problems with internet connection. For some reason it kept dropping the wireless signal. Normally I would blame my ISP and/or router but my old ACER doesn't have a problem with the internet connection. To get the signal back I'd have to firstly disconnect and then re-connect to my wireless, sometimes that would work but not all the time. Sometimes I'd have to re-boot. Anyways today I gave it a static IP address and so far it hasn't dropped the wireless signal. Hopefully that has solved that problem.
Other than that the mousepad does hesitate sometimes but it hasn't frozen on me yet.
As long as the wireless keeps working I'm happy with this machine. Have you any ideas why it would keep dropping the signal?
It's a 8935G, I think 8935-7665. Anyways it's their latest model with the Blu-Ray.
Had problems with it again this morning. It wouldn't connect to the internet when first turned on but did after I re-booted. Then however even though it was connected it wouldn't connect via remote to my PC. After half an hour buggering around with it I just shut it off and am now working on my old ACER. I just don't have the time to keep dicking with it. Unless there is a quick fix to it I think I'll send it back and just get a DELL from AlienWare. Pain in the...rear end.
any one else having the same problem???
It seems to work fine if we give it a static ip address but it keeps dropping the dhcp assigned address and will not renew even if forced through command prompt.
Acer!!!! she should have listened to me and got the new M17
This machine is running a vista 64 bit os with 4 gig ram.
