My Pictures of My m6809 on someone else's Ebay Auction

This scumbag that has put a m6809 up on eBay. The problem is that the pictures that this person has put up on the auction are the ones that I took and posted in the pictures portion of this forum.

I find it disgusting that someone is so lazy that they are using pictures that someone else has taken.

Here is the Auction

This just proves that not alot of people on eBay can be trusted!

Put your name on your pictures.

How can I be so sure that it is not YOU who stole the eBayers pics?!

j/k

Feel free to put that smiley with the sign pointing up ...

Owned.

But that truly sucks. Go bid on it, and give the guy horrible ratings.
you should report him immediately.
He used your pictures, so what? Do you want royalties or something? It's not like he is using your bandwidth.
He is using those pictures to prove that he actually has the laptop, box and everything. Now I would say that's suspicious.
You NEED to report him. If it turns out he was lazy, then you still did the right thing. He could be really screwing some poor person out of a lot of money if he is trying to deceive them without actually owning the notebook.
Don't report him! Substitute that picture with something else if you catch my drift. Seriously, I had that problem before when some tool jacked my picture of a car amp. Believe me, this is an opportunity to have some serious fun. At the end of it, you can STILL report him.

First off, I can't replace the photos since he ripped the photos and uploaded them to eBay. There are no links to the photos on my website. Second, I did report him this evening to eBay.

I reported this person because in his auction, he stated that he opened the box and tested the laptop. Since he is using my photos and has not made mention that the photos in the auction are not of the actual product for sale, he is misrepresenting this auction.

This may just be laziness, but this also may be someone that is trying to rip off an unsuspecting buyer. Only time will tell for sure.

This is illegal and if proven right he could end up being legally taken down. It has happened before...

That bastard. I thought he took the easy route and stole the links. That's what happened to me. At the least, report to ebay and send an email to the bidders and warn them of the potential for fraud. While you're at it, sending the ebayer a msg wouldn't hurt either. That tool !!!

The seller's rating is pretty damn good (131, 100% positive), he/she used eMachines' and your pics, so what's the problem? Maybe your pics worked well for him/her, just like the professional eMachines ones. Like someone already posted, what do you want, royalties? Recognition? Maybe they don't have a digicam, etc etc etc. Maybe they are, GASP!, a little lazy, so should they get a bullet in the head for it? How about their hands cut off? What about gouging their eyes out? Please...

It's not 100% clean, but there are far worse injustices done daily on eBay than using someone else's pic.

He "owns" a laptop but can't get a camera? You don't need a digital camera to get pics onto your computer, doofus.

You *can't* use pictures that aren't yours to try and sell anything on eBay, plain and simple. This guy is probably ripping people off, and you're completely missing the point.

Duh. Get a clue.

I can understand someone using generic, professional-shot pictures, like the ones on eBay's website. But by using the pictures he used, due to the look of them, it is implied that they are actual pictures of what he is selling, without stating otherwise, and that is wrong.

You should e-mail the winner of that auction too.

People are WAY overreacting to this. First off, who wastes their time surfing eBay to see if their pics are there? If you own an m6809 why the heck are you there to begin with? Secondly, it's a stinking picture. He's got great feedback so it is highly unlikely the guy is ripping someone off. BTW, if you email the winning bidder on an eBay auction, I hope they ban you. That is worse taste than the guy uploading the picture. Also, you better be darn sure it is YOUR picture. Personally, I wouldn't care unless I was certain the individual was a scammer. If anything he just was lazy, so who cares?

He may not have a camera to take pics OF the laptop.

Doofus, huh? You don't know me, yet you call me doofus and imply that I'm a clueless idiot. Think about that.

"*can't*"? If that was the case, a huge portion of the auctions would be shut down, and it isn't happening.

"Probably ripping people off" with his 100% positive feedback being a clear reflection of his shady dealings on eBay.

Again, think about that.

No, I know you're an idiot because you think that a seller using somebody else's home pictures that he stole and used without permission to fool people into thinking that they're looking at HIS laptop is alright. That's how tons of people get scammed on EBay every day.

EBay only cares about money and doesn't even adhere to their own rules. Have you ever seen how long fake auctions for human hearts or kidneys for transplant stay up? Bidding hits the millions. Wow, they're on the ball.

There are TONS of people on EBay who use multiple credit cards to create multiple user ID's, "buy" items from the main account and give positive feedback. Ever think about that? Or would that require a brain?

Quit your bitching. "Laziness" as an excuse for taking people's pictures off a forum and passing them off as your computer for sale is FRAUD. Enough said.

He has 100% feedback on like 100+ sales. I would say it is highly unlikely he is ripping someone off... People are way overreacting. Also, you did call a guy a dufus and other names which is just in poor taste. I am sure you are not a rude or unintelligent person ( quite the contrary, I would think you to be an intelligent and consciencious person if a bit overzealous) but unfortunately it comes across that way when you choose to address a person the way you did...

Let's all keep it on the up and up shall we?
