Battery Wont Charge m9700

I have an Aurora m9700 and a couple of months back I lost my charger. I called Alienware and they directed my to this site and I bought a new one. The specs on the new charger are

AC INPUT 100-240v ~ 2.5a, 50-60Hz

DC OUTPUT 18-24v 160w MAX
and there is a table that says a 19v output

Is there something wrong with the charger or the battery?

Can you run without the battery when the charger is plugged in?

no the battery has been dead since the longest i can run the computer with the power cord but not the battery

Then it is possible that the battery is gone. You can try to verify by borrowing another battery and see if the charger works, or us the charger on another AW comp and see.

They are commendable. Funny about the incomplete specs on the item. A search of the ac adapter replacement in Europe shows something like this. You should be able to make sense out of the numbers.
