ok is this significant

when i take the battery off the power button is blue
when i put it back in its orange

what does that mean?

Usually it means charging. Does this again have anything to do with your "fix it" by yanking things around, like with your optical drive in another thread?

no i havent yanked the battery yet but my alienware cd drive came out before when i picked it up too get the serial number
