Maybe de-fragging would help...

No! I use the defrag one every couple weeks, I analyzed it just now!

Hmm... I'm not sure. I haven't benchmarked my system yet and i'm not sure how i would go about getting it higher...

Braingoo has a awsome "what to do when you 1st get or reinstall the os" post that will deff help that score right out!!:-)
make sure you eliminate the processes you don't need (you can get the list off braingoos post) that seems to help alot!

Like was said earlier, make sure you dont have anything running in the background. Check your gpu frequencies as well...it you ran the test on battery with powerplay enabled, your gpu frequencies are gonna drop like a rock...just like your score.

i see your pushing your video card pretty hard on that test (engine 440, memory 245) do you have any problems running at those speeds?

edit : nevermind, i see it was the notebook you were comparing against that was pushing that hard.

Here are the 2003 Benchmarks of my little 9600 Pro:

Performance Configuration (untweaked): 2600
Tweaked Configuration (220/385): 2834
Highly Tweaked Configuration (234/410): 3017
Ultimate Tweaked Configuration (250/440): 3227

The higher you go, the more you have to make sure that the fans aren't blocked.
No artefacts even with the ultimate setting.
Lazarus are you using a notebook cooler? I'm using the Targus coolre but when i tried to run the "ultimate tweaked" my artifacts were really really bad so i aborted the test..here were my results

no overclocking - 2608
Tweaked - 2834
Highly tweaked - 3022

(using the clock settings lazarus used above)
Nope - no notebook cooler. Never had any artefacts or freezes with 3DMark2003 or any of my Games (Farcry, Sacred, etc. - you name it).

But I got a freeze when I tried my 'Insane Setting' (all to the max).
Try and error - leaves me with my four settings.
(Tests were performed with the 1.16a AGP and the Omega 2.5.30 drivers)

Adrenaline is a nice little tweaker. Glad I purchased it.
what version of the bios are you running?
v1.14
For comparison I am getting 2600 on the Go5600 (untweaked" and (2800's) overclocked. Also on the 1.14 and unoffical Nvidia drivers.

Actually...those are the settings on my laptop. I haven't had any artifacts or freezes. I don't use a cooler of any sort and I am running BIOS 1.09.

my benches for 5700 are out of the box - Battery 3011 - AC 3056-

3.0GHz, 512DDR, 60gig, 7200rpm clocked at 100 engine and 200 memory

I don't know if you are just talking about laptop benchmarks, but I want to know what you think about both my PC's scores on 3DMark03:

Desktop (Alienware Aurora DDR):

SCORE: 4665
CPU: AMD Athlon(tm) XP/MP/4 1997 MHz
GPU: ATI RADEON 9700 PRO
324 MHz / 311 MHz
OS: Microsoft Windows XP
Res: 1024x768@32 bit
1 gb RAM

Laptop (HP Pavilion ZD7030):

SCORE: 2547
CPU: Intel Pentium 4 3059 MHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce FX go5600
50 MHz / 100 MHz
OS: Microsoft Windows XP
Res: 1024x768@32 bit
1 gb RAM
Do you think these scores are too low or are they fine? Thanx
post #20 of 27
Your scores for the lappy look pretty good to me cwil I pull about 2600 on my area 51m..I'm not sure how much the HP pavilion costs but i can't imagine it costing as much as the alienware
