as qhn says, the asus g50 models are real nice for your budget

NewEgg is a good place to look for G50. Best Buy also has a G50 for $899 I think. MSI also has a similar system to the Asus and Gateway.

With 1300 USD you can go for some higher end systems. There are lot of players like HP and ASUS.

But what I have heard is for gaming Asus is the best. If I am given a choice I would go for Asus G1Sn-X1 Gaming Notebook P. It will cost around $900. You can also check out products from HP.

Let us know once you get it. All the best!

Fine suggestion but we have been suggesting Asus (G50) and the one you recommend has a slower CPU and a 9500m GPU? The Asus G50 at Best Buy has like a 2.2 CPU and a 9800m GS for $899? As do all the others.

And HP sucks they really don't offer better than what we have mentioned. Oh and they overheat? But oh well to each his own.

Oh! Welcome. It is nice to have your input. Nice to have new members enjoy your stay. Have fun and happy 4th!

g50vt-x1 from bestbuy is better than that and cheaper/same price. its a 2.26ghz dual core and people tend to debate whether the video card is 9800m gs or gt. gs is the one advertised but gt seems to appear alot when people check the inside of their computer with programs (everest home, or even the nvidia driver update thing on their website). just as a word of caution, i would be wary of the G1sn-x1. i used to have one and it worked for a couple months. then it would start shutting down minutes after startup, i brought it back to bestbuy and one of the guys said that asus said a bunch of the g1sn-x1's were getting hard drive failures. just a word of advise.
although final words: g50vt>g1sn

What is better for Gaming Laptop

To get one Like the Clevo with Core i7 cpu & single gtx 280 card

or get one with the Dual Graphic Cards like the Asus W90 & they claim 20,000 bench marks

So should i be asking wahts the benchmarks when looking for a Gaming laptop ?
& get the one thats Got Top Rated

Are there any Threads showing top Benchmarks for gaming laptop

Thanks

Have you abandoned your budget? I mean both the NP9280 and Asus W90 are out of budget not to mention the NP9850?

i assume the TS doesnt have a second account named lord vader. its probably a thread jacker, anyways can you even put i7 in a laptop (assuming vader = TS)

He tricked me. I think the W90 CF will out perform the NP9280 I7/280m GTX in gaming. I also think both will game fine. Also the NP9850 w/C2D/280M GTX SLI should be interesting.

Will have to see as they start coming out.

Your choice looks good but consider even though this has little slower CPU it does have the GTX 260m? Link, $999. And maybe you can walk in and pick up?

I've been looking at the G50VT-X8TW as well as a number of other Asus gaming notebooks. I'd so totally go with the one you linked to, but it has a known issue with he GPU overheating thanks to the air flow running over the CPU before the GPU, resulting in some severe heat issues and poor performance. An update is due from Asus soon to fix it, but if the other gaming notebooks Asus sells through Best Buy are any indication, that GTX 260m is looking at a major downclock to cut down on its heat issues. The only reason I'm not buying the G50VT-X8TW right now is that I'm trying to figure out if it has the same poorly-configured airflow problem - which seems entirely possible since, going by Newegg's photos of the thing, it has only one side vent. There is a reviewer saying that cool air is pulled in from directly under the GPU, but I'm not sure how much difference that will make if every other bit of hot air inside the thing has to go out the same side vent (and right over the GPU).

EDIT: seems the one from Best Buy (G51VX-RX05) is already shipping downclocked.

It's all in the user reviews on the page you linked to. The performance of the G51VX-RX05 seems to be well-rated by some, but there are a lot of people who are having problems with system stability stemming from overheating. Others are having trouble trying to "over"clock the thing back up to the standard power of the GTX. One reviewer compares the actual downclocked speed of the GTX in that model to the standard speed of the 9800M GS.

Read all before commenting? I mean one chuckle head?

I read every review for that product at Best Buy. While I agree that it is generally fairly well-reviewed, the heat and longevity concerns are worrisome. 90 degree Celsius temps in the GPU while gaming - even intermittently - can kill a GPU no problem, and I've seen reviews elsewhere that verify those temp readings.
