I just pre-orded a Sager NP9850, a true gaming Laptop that matches the power (if not exceeds) that of Alienware's M17x and for about $400 less. With my laptop I am going to buy extra things such as cooling fans, a great audio system and of course a gaming mouse and keyboard. I know what to look for in good gaming products however, it has been at least 2 years since I have done any serious gaming and a lot has changed. I have tried to keep up with the times but being in the military has kept me out of the loop and as of right now I cannot decide on what gaming mouse or gaming keyboard to get and it is driving me insane. I have narrowed it down to the products below.
For mice here is what I am looking at (all being in order of my most diserable to my least):
Razer Mamba : I this is my top choice when it comes to a gaming mouse. With Blue lighting and being able to be wired and wireless not to mention, probably the highest sensitivity on the market,make this an excellent gaming mouse. But the steep minium price of $109 and with the only one color selection slightly turn me away.
Razer Lachesis: This is another top choice however, there are two things that bug me. The first is that on Razer's website they list this mouse for FPS games only andthose are which Irarely play. Second is that also on Razer's website they list this as a claw/palm mouse however, I have seen it elsewhere being listed as only a claw mouse and being a palm user myself it would be hard for me if this was only a claw.
Roccat Kone : This is a very cool mouse. The ability to change the lighting to (pretty much) whatever color you want and the ability to add or reduce the weight is a high selling point for me. Unfortunately to every positive there is a negitive and from what I can see currently these are only available in the UK and in Europe.
For keyboards I only have 3 choices as well:
Saitek Eclipse III : I have always been a fan of Saitek's Eclipse line and even though they aren't really gaming keyboards I have used one in the past and have had great results. Improved lighting over its previous models and the ability to customize the lighting with several colors makes this a unique keyboard. There havn't been too many reviews for the Eclipse III but when there have been it has received high marks. Its large size might be a problem, but it is something I may be willing to look past.
Ideazon Merc Stealth: This is a cool pure gaming keyboard that is basically a backlit version of the older Merc model. It looks cool however, it has an awkward shape and may not suit my needs. I have seen mixed reviews of it though generally positive.
Logitech G19: A large, seemingly great gaming keyboard that has customizable backlitting like the Merc and the Eclipse and also has a small LCD screen that can display stats of the games you are playing. Seems almost too good to be true... well it is since this bad boy comes with a huge price tag often coming in at over $200. And in all honesty I have had a terrible past with many Logitech products.
If anyone also has any other suggestions please feel free to let me know and like I have said I have had terrible run ins in the past with Logitech products, more specifically their mice.
