In regards to m9700 XP drivers

My m9700 has no drivers and I installed drivers from that post earlier but none of them do anything and in device manager none of the devices have a name they are like ethernet controler pci memory controler base system device stuff like that is there something wrong with the bios or the mobo?

ok. So you have Windows 7 now, correct? If so, try to connect to the net via the NIC/ethernet card and let W7 update picking up some drivers for you first.

no windows 7 never installed i have xp

Same question, have you let XP get on the net and try first via its updates?

Basic XP installation should recognize the NIC card.

i cant get the laptop on the internet because the wireless isnt installed

What about the NIC/ethernet connection? It should be active within XP default installation.

no its not i tried that theres 2 things in device manager that just say ethernet controller that wont install

Some thing must go amiss here with the installation. XP should be able to use the ethernet connection for internet using its built-in driver on every notebook manufacturers and models. That is how it uses to get the updates.

You want to give your XP installation another try, accepting the default settings when doing it?

i exhausted that option already installing it twice and installing service pack 2

Good so it works for the wireless. Now you can use that and see if you can first pick up something on the net for the other devices.

man ur fast u wish alienware had a program that downloads all the drivers for me
