AHCI Drivers for Inspiron 1720 - Windows XP

I've tried using the ones from the Dell web site but I cannot get them to work, just incase i'm being a dill can someone link me to the correct AHCI drivers please?

You can download the SATA driver from Intel. AHCI is a BIOS option to support SATA where you can disable it from within BIOS (if you have the option) and install XP direct afterward.

yes i noticed in ATA mode in the BIOS XP boots fine, but as soon as I switch to AHCI it didn't. On Vista I needed to install the Intel Matrix Storage Manager I think it's called (during the setup) for it to install.

You should not need to turn AHCI back on if you are running XP. It would make no difference to system performance.
