Cooling of the G50VT-X8TW

Thread Starter
I'm looking at getting the G50VT-X8TW, but I have concerns about its longevity and ability to function properly. The G51VX-RX05 seems to have a known issue with its cooling system in that it routes airflow first over its CPU then over its GPU leading to potentially unsafe temps with the fix being that Asus is downclocking the GPU. Is there a similar issue with the X8TW? If I get it, am I really getting the 9800m GS, or is it a hobbled version of the 9800m GS? If it's not hobbled, should I be worried about the computer just up and dying in a year?

I haven't heard of any cooling issues or downclocking problems with the G50Vt, only with the earlier G1 series.

get a zalman nc-2000 cooler and you'll be perfectly fine. That 9800m gs can be pushed very far.
