Multiboot Vista/Windows 7 notebook

What's the likelyhood of success in adding Windows 7 to a Vista notebook to create a multiboot Vista/Windows 7 system?

Notebook is an HP Pavilon dv9000, purchased 31 May 2008.

Would Windows 7 include the necessary drivers out of the box?

Would we be able to use drivers from the component manufacturers?

Would we have to rely on drivers frm HP?

You can dual boot Vista and W7 as you wish. Drivers are solely at the devices manufacturers discretion, and for some models specific apps you have to rely on them to offer compatibilities.

So far, most Vista drivers are working fine under Windows 7.

Why would you want to dual boot? Just wondering.

Multibooting has several advantages, including:

1. If one writes programs for Microsoft Office, one needs a separate OS for each version of Office.

2. Different software could be used in each OS, e.g., one OS could have Nero, another Roxio.

3. For testing, having multiple OS makes things easier.

4. In hte case of Vista, the notebook is my only Vista system, so I would want to keep it around for testing.

5. Sometimes, things go wrong with an OS, and one can boot to another OS and delete/add/correct some files.
