It is not MS fault that you don't have available XP drivers for your comp. HP and the devices manufacturers are the culprit.

You might want to list out the devices within your devices manager and search the net direct for the XP drivers. List them out here as well, we can all chip in for you.

. NVIDIA GeForce 9200M GS = go to nVidia for this

. Broadcom 802.11b/g = http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/g...tem=ob-26984-1

. Realtek RTL8168C(P)/8111C(P) = search HP Support Site for this.

. IDT High Definition Audio = same as above.

. NVIDIA GeForce 9200M GS = http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce...5.85_whql.html

. Broadcom: installed meaning device is working. Not connecting to your network might be another issue altogether.

. NIC driver: uninstall the driver, let XP uses its own, and get update from the net.

. Audio: http://drivers.softpedia.com/downloa...n+Audio+driver

You need to get your XP up to date also! Go SP3!

Man you are the BOSS , I have successfully install vga/chipset/Lan/wireless ....great work bro this possible only because of you.

But only getting trouble with sound card... I think xp didn't detect hardware of sound card. As I can't see it listing in the Device manager.

XP has an issue with High Definition Audio. This requires a patch if you are using pre-SP3 updates.

Search the net for it (KB888111)

Somehow I have managed to installed IDT High Definition Audio Codec which worked. But every time I reboot machine it disappear.
So I uninstall Microsoft UAA Bus Driver and rescan for hardware changes and it automatically install it back.
but have to do this all the time after reboot. Any work around ?
XP probably looks for some old driver files at reboot. The best thing is to uninstall the driver completely, clean out all related files, and try to re-install with XP patch FIRST, then the driver.

Here is the solution

If you found the sound was not working after restart, do the following steps

1. Download devcon command line utility, here

2. Extract and copy the file to c:\windows\devcon\i386\devcon.exe

3. Make command line to restart MS-UAA automatically or just download this file

The command line as: C:\windows\devcon\i386\devcon.exe restart "PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_293E&SUBSYS_3607103C&REV_03"

Notes:
1. The location of devcon.exe is in c:\windows\devcon\i386\devcon.exe if you change it, you need to edit idt.bat

2. "PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_293E&SUBSYS_3607103C&REV_03" is hardware ID for MS-UAA, if you found it in a different name change it.

3. Place idt.bat in c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

4. The sound will be restore within 6-10 seconds, because of that there is NO sound of XP start-up
