Validate Windows 7 Upgrade in US

Hi,
Do you know something about this -

Someone wrote there - "If you are going to use it in a country other than the US it should not be a problem. Just validate it here"
Do you know something about it???

They were saying that they think the half price upgrade option is for the US only and the machine on which the upgrade is installed needs to activate the copy of Windows 7 in the United States.

I personally doubt this is true.

what they're really meaning is the half price offer is valid for the US, buying from the US store shipping to a US address. other regions sell different language versions (and there's the restrictions in the EU as well requiring different builds). it doesnt matter where its actually activated, the internet is the internet
