Hello everyone.
Long time no post here

One quick question.
I had a major car accident and my m6300 is partialy destroyed.
I already called Dell and i have the Accidental Cover.

What do you guys think i will get to replace the m6300?
IT had 4gb ddr2, FX1600 Quadro, T7500 etc.

Thanks

They should be able to match the configuration or better it. If they don't have the M6300, it will be the M6400...

I just had a D620 laptop that a lady spilled coffee on it at work. I chatted with Dell, they said they would send a replacement and send me an E6400 which had the same memory specs, better processor, bigger hard drive, and better video card...

I was reading a bit and it seems the m6400 can be a proper candidate since the m6300 is out of stock for a year +-.

Probably tomorrow i will have some news about it.

Thanks bur1196.

One more question, how long did it take for Dell to send you a proposal via email?
I'm still waiting for an email

I actually chatted with Dell. I don't use the email unless I am not expecting something right away...

Yup, had to do the same. Will wait for a new or the same configuration till tomorrow, the costumer care agent told me to wait.

Let's see what comes

One nice thing out of all of this is that Dell does stand behind their warranties...

Yup, since they no longer offer Acidental cover damage, this is a awesome service.

As far as I know Dell still offers Complete Care warranties on new purchases

I think they still offer it, we just purchased some new laptops and it said that it had them...

As for your laptop replacement, I think it might not be covered anymore once you use it up for a laptop replacement...

True.
A M6400 is coming, accepted the configuration yesterday. Now waiting for the order number.

Do you know if it takes long for them to start the building process?
The rep guy told me he would give me the order number once it's ready?
The expected delivery date is 8 of august.

Thanks

Wow, that is a long time. At least with the business, I chatted on Monday, and would have the laptop here on Wednesday but it might be different for non business calls...

The M6300 took like 1 month and 1 week to get to me.
I'm in Europe and since is a swap i think i cannot complain much .. since in the contract is that they will replace in the quickest time possible, they don't state a limit.

Well i think it's good already that i have a M6400 as a replacement.

Ahh, that makes sense then...I am sure you will be pleased with the new unit.

This is great news . i hope they are trustworthy.
Today morning i checked the order number and it was in production phase 3.
Now in the afternoon is in shipment preparations!

Order Date:16-07-2009
Estimated Delivery Date (on or before this date): 04-08-2009

I think it was in production since yesterday, so i think this is great news

Do you know if the models to europe come from ireland or malasya?

I don't believe that Dell would have an assembly line in Europe - labour is just too expensive for them.

cheers ...
