Hey Dallas, sorry to keep you waiting! ;-)
I just called and the tech that's working on my machine is out to lunch. I asked the guy that answered the phone and he said just to google the manufacture, but I know it's not that easy.. it's alienware, lol.
I'll call him back in an hour and find out what kind of fan that is. They're wanting to sauder (sp?) mine to my board since the plastic connector melted (they're saying the alien over heated.. took it 5 years to do so, hehe) so I'm going to try and get them to find me one and replace mine as well. I'll post back in about an hour..
Edit: or two..
I talked to the guy that's working on mine, he said that was just a "muffin fan". He said the really flat ones are called pancake fans.. I asked him what you would look up to find just the fan, since he explained that normally you'd have to purchase the entire housing/heatsink to fix a bad fan. He suggested looking at a place like this;http://www.blowerwheel.com/fans-cool...med-square.htm
and finding one that's a near fit and trimming down the shroud to be exact. I'll have notes when I get the bill, if there's a part or model number I'll post back with it. I hope this helps! If there's other specific info you need let me know and I'll try to wean it outta these guys.
PS: If you're sure it's a five volt fan (I will ask them next time I call) here's a list
