Hi,

Regarding after-sales support

dell : home visit/remote troubleshooting ...over all it is good
hp: carry-in to service centre, heard not that good
sony vaio: carry-in , after-sales support not known how good

all the above have 1 year warrenty , but may be extended but with extra cost.

Then I would definitively go with the Dell option. Specs are good and price is cool, support is important wherever you are.

But Dell Studio 15 models have

1. No Interactive Media Control Keys
2. No Informative Led's HDD, Bluetooth, Wifi, capslock, numslock, scrollock) / only Power Led Available

3. Slot DVD drive
4. Heard that it over heats
5. And no to tough body (especially top)

Please say if any demerits about the above drawbacks

If the extras are really what you need than take one from the other 2 :-) I have really no preference over slot drive or not, so I can't say much. Overheating can happen to any models, any manufacturers and how/where you use them.

Your best bet is to go to a shop where you can put your hands on the machines and compare them physically.

Let us know what you come up with, and give us a personal review when you have a chance. I own and use Sony/HP/Dell and never (yet) experienced issues with them.

cheers ...
