Asus W90 at Newegg

I have been tossing around the idea of purchasing this laptop about a month or so ago. When I checked the price was $2199 at newegg. I checked last week and the price went up to $2249. I was about to buy, then I check this morning and now it is up to $2349. Does anyone have any idea why the price is going up? I didn't notice any new hardware added. I always though computer prices were supposed to go down and not up, especially with the state that the economy is in now. BTW, does anyone know of any store that has it for the original price of $2199? I googled and froogled around, but everyone seems to want more > $2349. For this price, I can get the Alienware m17x or the Sager.

Probably because of limited stock and it's a highly sought after notebook.

Up to $2449 now. I wonder what he extra $350 is for? No new hardware. Must be to make sure newegg owners have Ferrari.

I actually wanted to buy this laptop. But there is no way in hell I am paying an extra $500 for "NOTHING". Computer prices are supposed to go down, not up. And with us in a recession, that only makes it more so. Wish I would have bought 10 or so a couple of months ago. I'd have made a killing on ebay.

That new AW is looking rather good now. m17x for me, once they do a special or something.

It also might have been a promotional price or something. Limited time.

If you get an m17x you gotta keep us posted on it and pics and benches!!!

You mean "jack up the price of a computer that was originally $2199 to $2899" and rape us. At least with Alienware and Sager their prices don't go UP without adding anything!

^^That also. ASUS sees an opportunity for $$$ ;-)

cheers ...
