Toshiba Satellite A205-S5000 Sata Problem

hi! im reformatting a A205-S5000 laptop from vista to xp, but whenever the XP setup starts, it doesn't detect the hard drive. the hard drive is a 120gb Hitachi 5K250 Travelstar... i think the problem is the hard disc controller but hitachi's website doesn't provide the necessary driver for the drive. can someone help me in finding the necessary driver for that. thanks

You need either the Sata Driver that you can download from Intel, or just disable SATA/AHCI support in the BIOS (if you have the option).

does the option in intel involve the chipset used by the laptop?? because the 2nd option will not work, the laptop's BIOS does not have that option... any other ways i can make it work?? thanks for the reply

finally got the xp sp2 installed and almost everything is ok now.. except for the wireless LAN, i cant get it to connect... what seems to be the problem cause i installed the correct driver for the wireless lan??

Check the settings against the router? Try different drivers?
