Laptop Help

Hi. I'm looking for a new computer (laptop) that can handle games well. Thus, I want to have a graphics card that will last at least a few years for playing patch games (ie. online MMO games). I was looking for a computer that would cost around $2500 (or lower). I've looked into Alienware and I think their products are great, but they're kinda costly. I've looked into Asus too because someone talked about them, but I hadn't heard of them before recently. Other than Alienware, I would like to avoid Dell because I keep hearing terrible things (ie. the blue screen of doom). Thank you very much

for big notebooks, either the Alienware M17x with 2 Nvidia GTX 280M video cards in SLI or the Asus W90Vp with 2 ATI 4870 video cards in Crossfire would work well for you.

I would further suggest you look at Sager/Clevo's. They likely are the best out for performance.

The most graphically powerful Sager/Clevo model is the (Sager model number) NP9850, which has the same graphics card options as the Alienware M17x. So if you add that to the list, it's still basically a toss-up between the Alienware, the Asus, and the Sager. Again, all will work well. The rest comes down to other (non-performance) preferences.

I'm not entirely experienced, so I haven't heard of Sager. Are they reliable? And I just looked around the site. Sager does seem a bit cheaper. I did notice that they have a laptop with an i7 processor. I heard that that is pretty amazing, but I'm not sure why. Would it be worth the cost?

You want to browse NBF Sager Section to read about members feedback to Sager.

i7 is the "in" thing ;-) I still find that my Dual Core has yet to use its full potential .

cheers ...
