Any free antivirus that works well ~desu?

Actually Eset NOD32 is "Kinda" free desu~ You just go to nod321 site and grab a ID and password go Eset site and download the 'Purchased' version. You'll be prompt to input ID and passwrd there you can have the downloaded version desu~ Once installed desu~ You need to again input ID and password to allow the program update virus definition desu~

And no desu~ there's no such thing as chibi freeware antivirus that can beat Symantec and Eset desu~

I have to go to the Chinese translated website ~desu?
how much of my chibi processor will the eset use ~desu? I have core 2 duo 2.27 ghz processor ~desu.
I WILL ENTER YOU DREAMS ~desu
Yeah it has chinese characters on the site but you don't need to understand that desu~ Just go on the site and you'll see ID and password desu~ That's what you need desu~!

Well desu~ i have Core 2 Duo 2.0GHz Merom desu~ But i always use power saving mode for games and normal stuffs desu~ And that power saving i set it to use only 50% of the CPU clock and yes shocking 1GHz only for Windows 7 Aero+Antivirus+some old PC Games like Guild War, GTASA etc desu~ OH-HO-HO-HO~!

Btw i want the actual doll DESU~!

i need to uninstall avg free first then right ~desu?
does eset get false positives ~desu?
DESSSSUUU!!!! Eset only has 2 year contracts ill probably forget the website before the 2 years end ~desu!!!
or does your website give a magical password that gives unlimited eset ~desu?
UNYUUUUUUUU!! I actually want the rozen ring ~hehehehe ~desu
post #26 of 229

Holy how the hell chibi ichigo pops out from nowhere desu~! xD

Anyway, yes you do need to uninstall your current antivirus program on your computer desu~ is just not for eset desu~ is for every antivirus because you cannot have both AVs running on same computer desu~

Eset have very less false alarms on the test compare with other AV products desu~ But personally i love it as it works great desu~ The website i gave you contain daily generated usernames and passwords and depending on the usernames and passwords, some expires within a week, some up to 2 months as i experienced desu~ But never up to 6 months desu~

Plus, you don't get Rozen ring until you get the doll first, remember? ~desu xDD

( Btw we are off-topic O.O; actually )

But yeah...
anyhow to get back on topic, if this eset password turns on multiple tims ~desu do i get a popup announcement and then a place to enter a new username and password ~desu?
anyhow, on topic bit, since you have a dual core and so do i, but mines a bit stronger do you ever lag when you use antivirus + something else large (game , possibly movie) when you computer isnt on powersaver mode ~desu?
the above shoudl constitute the tpic as still on topic ~hehehehehehe

You can change/edit username and password on Update section on NOD32 desu~ When the username expired you will be prompted to enter new desu~

I don't know about other antivirus program desu~ But i don't see a slowdown on gaming and movie desu~ But extracting/launching certain app/installers and toolkit programs can be slow desu~ PSP UMDGen toolkit is a 500KB program and can take up to 3 mins on 1GHz desu~ WMP/VLC/IE8/Photoshop CS4 maybe about 3-8 sec slower with AV on 1GHz desu~ But that can't be accurate desu~ :3

I barely use full speed on laptop because i haven't cleaned the heatsink for a while desu~ gaming with power saving mode barely generate heat and the fan only run less then 10 seconds and then stopped, passive heat tank works great desu~ but can be 20-35% slow down on framerates on some games desu~ :3

Even in 3 years you won't see quad cores utilized to make it more favorable IMHO...unless it's a specific app that you need to run fast, don't bother with quads.

This is true, my laptop runs my xp virtual machine, has 8gb ram, and I'll soon be needing a quad core with all the other vm's i run. However, my t9600 does quite well right now, and Im using a corsair P256 ssd. But my laptop is primarily my desktop pc for the office. If I went quad I'd want a least a 2.3-2.4ghz, maybe a qx9300, but they're pricey.

yippie!!! ill probably get eset then.
i wish my laptop could quadcore
Quad is certainly good to go if the price and speed is reasonable. I only need tri-core but no go on AMD laptops desu~ But in any way you need a new mainboard to fit that.

I just want Penyrn 2.8GHz but i'm broke.. :3

EDIT: Oh wait, there are comments that CPU may not be compatible with 800MHz FSB mainboard. O.O;

yeah...i wish my laptop was quad core capable. i heard its only about the bios though, i think someone stuck a quadcore into the kind of laptop i have and it wouldnt turn on unless they had the power cord plugged in ~desu. i dont think spending another 1300-2k is worth it for a quad core at the moment ~desu.

Yeah, it's a BIOS restriction on the G50 series. I'm not sure why it's in place, since Asus sells 17" & 18.4" notebooks with quads. Theoretically, if you could fool your G50 BIOS into thinking it was a G70, it might work, but that's just my conjecture.

Very good conjecture. But I suspect the extra 10w TDP for the G50's that already has thermal issues was just too much?

I wish someone on any of these enthusiast sites would explain and teach how to code a BIOS? It can't be that hard?

well it depends on what the BIOS is programmed in, if its something like C++/Java then it'll be "easier" but if ts something like assembly then itll be very tough.
Aside from that, i doubt that its necessary to code the entire BIOS. You know those emulation systems that allow you to play game boy games on your pc? im sure theres a way to do that pc style. so we would have a fake pc inside a real pc...or perhaps it'll have to be the way those cheat progams work (like action replay) where it rewrites the known data, so the BIOS would still be the g50 BIOS but with that single aspect of the BIOS changed to allow quads.

Wow you seriously desperated to have Quad. But strangely enought i found one on ebay that is fairly cheap. Price range is pretty much the same to dualcore Penryn 2.60GHz 800MHz.

I personally would not touch any "ES" CPU module for the simple fact that it can be doggy now and then. And as far as I concern, these modules belong to Intel, and not for sale.

cheers ...
