Windows 7 app compatibilities

Hey,

I was thinking of maybe trying out Windows 7 (seems cooler/faster than xp sp3).

The problem is I'm afraid some of my apps won't work in windows 7. For example, a quick google search tells you notebook hardware control (NHC) does not work. So what would I use to control cpu voltages?

What about I9kfangui? ATi Tools? Rainlendar? Powerstrip?

Thoughts?

W7 has no issue at the moment as far as CPU and temp control concern.. I would just leave it to W7 to do its stuff.

(moved to Software General)

I'm not sure what you mean. You mean it has built in features to control fan turn on temps and speeds, as well as CPU voltage?

Nope. But W7 manages different CPU and temp performance just fine without resorting to 3rd party utilities.

For what it's worth, RMclock works. Atitool used to work with the 32-bit beta, but I can't use it with the 64-bit RC, but I blame Asus for that.

Sweet, I'll have to see if it works with the 32bit RC. BTW, windows 7 asks permission for RMCLOCK on each boot. There's no way to get past that eh? Or without disabling "UAC" whatever that means.

There were some ways, but I couldn't get them to work, so I just disabled UAC. But search for "vista uac rmclcock" in google, and you should find something on that.
