hi all...
i've recently changed the MOBO in my area51 m7700 (d9t)
and all went smoothly.. the original MOBO had the dreaded hard drive prolems in the bios(ie dosen't see one at all)..
everything is working fine except the keyboard??
i'm having to use a usb wireless keyboard as the one on the lappy dosnt work at all.. the bios has no mention of the keyboard???
the mobo is ver6 and is running the 1.00.12 bios.
the keyboard is model no. MP-03756GB-4304L

the keyboard was working on the old mobo so i'm stumped???? and the old board was a ver6 as well...
any ideas???

if you need more info let me know..

thanks
Terry

Have you tried to re-seat the keyboard again? Review the installation steps?

Thanks.. but yeah ive tried several times to no avail....
it's as if it isn't being picked up by the bios when it scans the hardware..
should the keyboard be mentioned in the bios? cant see any reference to it anywhere apart from the keyboard controller version on start up post.
???????

The fact that your system start up meant that the keyboard is being recognized (usually). If it is not working it means that it is being defect. BIOS can't tell if the keyboard is fully functional or not, only if it is being present. I could be wrong.

more info

hi
ok i've just had another look at the connector on the keyboard, and it all looks fine.. but looking at the thread on removing your keyboard the ribbon from the board is white on the top and black beneath. mine is the opposite way around??
so i tried conncting the ribbon up the other way, although it's not possable to use the keyboard like this i do get random charactors displayed when pushing buttons??? where as when it's connected the right way i get no input at all??

the model number on the keyboard is,
MP-03756GB-4304L Rev A P/N:6-80-M57A0-190-1

Any ideas?? i'm starting to think the keyboard is wrong for the new MOBO??
if you click on the links you should get a clearer pic....

You might want to look for keyboard replacement from Clevo D900K D900T notebooks. Better chance for the UK layout.#
