Problems with Video Capture

I am having problems with my video capture. It am getting a green bar on the bottom and black and white reception. I know my cable input is ok, cause I can switch it directly to a tv and the reception comes in perfect.

Has anybody had similar problems, and have a potential resolution?

Wrong TV-tuner? (PAL vs NTSC)

Seems to me that your tuner is for the wrong TV-standard (NTSC vs PAL).

When doing a capture...you get any sound or just crackling?
Does the screen seems a bit vertically squished (or just the opposite)?

If the answers to both questions are yes, then I'm pretty sure you have the
wrong tuner in your lappy.

Also check the box the lappy was delivered in. Should be mentionned somewhere.
