Well, since there are lots of file formats, maybe sometime you will get a video that you won't be able to play because you don't have the proper codec.
Maybe you do not need it right now and there's no need for you to install any codec pack. But if you ever have problems with a video that just won't play, consider installing a codec pack.
I haven't used K-Lite codec pack, I use shark007 codec pack
. It works wonders, so far it has played all my videos and it loads the subtitles.
