M70Sa with Blue Screen...

Just having to say "blue screen" makes my stomach turn because I haven't delt with that since my first laptop right out of high school.
Ok, my M70 has been good to me since I got it on eBay but I was in one of those moods and wanted to try Vista x64. Well after installing I had the usual problems finding drivers and the like but every once in a while I'd get a blue screen that flashed for a second and then after a restart it was fine. Nothing that I was running or doing every time that I know of.
Well this last time I restarted and got the blue screen to flash before Vista was even booted completely and safe mode was the only thing that would work.
Thinking that Vista x64 was my problem and since I was thinking about going back to x32 anyway because of compatibility I tried to restore the factory settings but got another blue screen. I tried to reinstall x64 since it is not a restore version but got another blue screen. Even tried to install XP to no avail. I formatted the hard drive using my PS3 and tried to restore again but still get the blue screen.
I've also tried 2 different hard drives.

Any help is appreciated so please let me know what you guys think.

Here is an update:
After removing one RAM chip and almost installing Vista x64 with a blue screen at the end and then swapping the RAM that was out and not even making it to the actual install I decided that maybe one or both of my RAM chips are bad but what are the odds of 2 RAM chips going bad in the same instance?
So then after many attempts at what I thought were successful installs of Vista I finally got it to start up and am actually posting from the M70 right now. Though strangely my start-up was haunted by a cmd.exe window that was open when the computer got up with a black screen behind it. Only after I "X"ed the window did I see the start menu and desktop and so far (for about 15 minutes) have not had the BSOD.
Maybe this will help someone help me figure what is going on with my laptop.

Oh and is there any program that can test hardware to see if it is good or bad?

Well I guess nobody wanted to try and help, or didn't know but no matter. I fixed the problem anyway. It was bad RAM.

Nobody learned anything from this thread so if a mod wants to delete it thats fine.

Sorry nobody could help, but I think lots of people could learn from your experience and what you did to fix it.
