Notebook monitor's "sidelights" can be seen at an angle

Hello

I just purchased a brand new HP Mini 2140, a notebook that I have been craving for for months. Last night, I noticed that if I look at the left side of my monitor at an angle facing the screen, I could see the LCD's backlights/sidelights. Is this normal? I looked at some laptops and I don't see the same kind of lights unless I press my thumb against the screen.

Should I return the laptop for repair/replacement?

Thanks in advance

If you look at it straight on and it looks fine no problem! Do not over do this!

The backlight you seeing is normal. Is the casing that exposed it on certain angel.

There's nothing to worry about if your screen is displaying normally.

Thank you for your replies. I've decided to follow the advice of not "overdoing" it. I admit I can be a bit paranoid about these things sometimes
