17" might be getting a bit too big. But increased viewing angles would be very nice. They're okay as they are, but you still lose some quality. Which is a big bleh.

17" would be nice as long as the depth of the laptop is reduced like most widescreen laptops have been conformed to.

What do you mean depth

you want a wide though short in height laptop? Blahh!!!!

(I'd buy it but rather have 17inch regular version with wide angle/height viewing capasity)

Depth...as in Depth...you know...Width, Depth, Height? Depth, not as in height...

17" just sounds a bit too big. Not only is it more expensive but is also in my opinion unnecessary (though I do understand people who must have nothing but the most absolute best, and this would be perfect for them...).

im wanting a desktop replacement, as long as its half way portable than damnit larger the screen the bigger my smile will be.

1 pound heavier? blah 2 more points for movie happyness and gaming bliss I say & bigger bicepts to boot

Didn't see the option for 18", so I clicked the 17" choice...

Sometimes size DOES matter...

A pound or two might not seem like much now but sure will when your carring it around...

the 5660 is not strong? lol come on its faster than the dells

the 3.06ht with 128meg m9 is coming out soon so there's your power

it will eventually get upgraded like the next 888x model a month or two after the 888x

I dont think the 5x model will keep following the 8x, it will come to real fast and super fast I think. I mean come on the 8x's case is a lot bigger and bulkier than the 5x so im sure it will get more of the higher end stuff that dishs out more heat. But hey if they can upgrade both versions with the exact same specs or close then thats fine to, I just hate people talking about weight.

Its already heavy so no point in complaining about the weight lol 17 inch wont make it 8lbs heavier maybe 1lb

Dell does 3.06ghz HT laptops now too~ you just cant order them from their website yet, and they have a more powerful video card but you sacrafice battery life for it. Dell store in Atlanta that I went to not long ago looking for a laptop had them on preorder scheduled for either this past Tuesday, the 25th, or this coming Tuesday. They are slowly catching up...Dell just isn't a big fan of power laptops because they sell mainly to businesses when it comes to laptops and they want battery life. I remember looking that that 5x line and there was a bunch of stuff I didn't like but don't remember now, probably something to do with the LCD.
