Need help with older Dell D400, Dell 355 Bluetooth and Windows 7

Ok well I'm trying to test out Windows 7 on my Dell D400 and everything works but the bluetooth.

My Dell D400 has an intergated Dell 355 bluetooh but the problem is, the blue light on the laptop won't come on under Windows 7, and when I try to install any drivers, it says bluetooth be found.

Now with the offical Dell vista drivers people report working on W7 and the 355 bluetooth, it says enable your bluetooth but the laptop has no on off button. So I checked around and found a patch from dell to turn on the bluetooth. Well I run that and it reports no bluetooth either.

I put Windows XP back in, works fine.

Thoughts?

Not much at the moment really. W7 RC is just that, a beta that relies very much on error and trial input and finding.

I still have many things that not work on our Sony under W7 RC.

Have you tried installing Vista first and use the patch and see if it really works?

Version 6.2.0.9200 of the WIDCOMM software works fine for me with the Truemobile 355 under Windows 7:

Start=>type "Services" Enter => Find "Bluetooth Support Service" right click "Properties", then Startup type put on"Automatic" and Service status click "Start", OK => Restart your Dell (if BTtray vanish just run dell driver installation again and thats it)

I tried this on Dell Studio 1555 with 370 Bluetooth module and Dell Studio 1558 with 365 Bluetooth module

I have worked on D400s and the systems use a different bluetooth module.
