That one is for HM67 Chipset ... You would need to search for something that supports GS40 and / or GS45 chipset

cheers ...

Hello everybody,

although this thread has already been around for a while may I still post a question regarding the CPU issue (hoping that the thread is still being followed).

I would like to know whether the CPU (Celeron 723 in my case) is mounted in a socket (P), or soldered to the motherboard? The cpuid says "Socket P", but I doubt it considering the thickness of the notebook. From the images uploaded by freddyspan I would say - embedded (soldered), but I am not really 100% sure.

My interest is whether the CPU could be upgraded or not, which would be possible only if it was socket mounted. I have already partly disassembled my U350, but stopped before removing the motherboard. I could have continued till the very end, but as I was a bit worried to damage the device, so I thought I ask the forum first. Perhaps someone knows the answer? Any comment / message would be appreciated.

Thanks a lot in advance!

It is soldered on. There is no easy way to upgrade.
