So this is kind of a two part issue here.
The first issue is that my m7700 does not want to start up most of the time. I press the power button to start up the laptop, and on a typical, no issues start-up the CD drives spin-up twice per drive, then the monitor displays the Alienware BIOS and it begins POST. However, with my m7700, the CD drives are typically stuck in a constant start-up loop. When I push the power button you can hear the CD drives spinning up numerous times, and that's all it would do. No display on the monitor, nothing coming from the speakers (no POST beep), the laptop does not start. I'm not sure what the issue is, but from what I've read with other issue similar to this, I'm guessing a mobo + GPU replacement is in order. Can someone confirm this?
The second issue (which I'm sure will dissapear if I replace the mobo and GPU) is that when this thing does decide to start up, I get an error stating "Device driver stuck in infinite loop" or something to that end. Commonly after I get this error I'll get a black screen of death where the display just disappears, my secondary monitor displays "No Connection", and I end up starting back with my first issue. Sometimes, rarely, will the laptop stay on for a decent amount of time and I can get some amount of work done (so far the record is an hour and a half or so). Can anyone shed some light onto this?
Thanks for any help in the matter.
