Hi I'm a noob when it comes to laptops, I have a studio 17 1737 model. I got the ATI 3650M and a T6400 2.0ghz and 64 bit with 4 gigs. The ? i have is i like to play games on the go when i have free time at college. I wasnt planning on gaming, but if i wanted to upgrade my cpu to something better what would yall suggest. I mainly play L4D and Mass Effect(have them on desktop so im not trying to max them out).

Thanks,

Most games don't rely so much on CPU so much. So be careful about upgrading if you want results? I assume you have the PM/GM45 chipset? If so I would look for one of the higher clocked CPU's w/1066Mhz fsb.

I mean I have the T9400? Nothing special about this but would work so would many others. The 8xxx have 3MBL2 the 9xxx have 6MBL2.

I upgraded my P8600 2.4ghz to a X9100 3.06ghz and it made next to no difference in game's,RTS included.[I have fps comparison somewhere if anybody is interested]
I would advise keeping what you have and saving that money for your next notebook purchase.
In general usage where you are not taxing the cpu at maximum speed for long period's,you won't notice any difference.
