new internet/computer security suite

i am looking to change my security software on my computer, and try to get the best possible combination out there. people are saying that free is better... is that true? here is what i currently have:

Norton 360 {people are saying that is a "must-change!"
Spy-bot
Malwarebytes

New to all of this, and doing some research on my own, I am looking at the following on my computer now:

Avast - Free Adition {Anti-Virus}
Online Armor Personal Firewall
Secunia Personal Software Inspector
McAfee SiteAdvisor
Ad-Aware Aniversary Edition 8.0.7
Spy-bot
Malwarebytes

All of this is free, and I would use the free-version.

This is a lot, I know, and I am wondering if there is anything better, or something that i don't need? And do Ad-Aware and Spy-bot go together? i heard that its a great combo to have! I use to have ad-aware.

I have Vista Home Premium.
