I just got one as a review unit (the A1 version with the quad CPU), and I'll have a review up within the next couple weeks.
initial impression: It's got a nice design for a gaming notebook. There's a cool artistic design on the lid that looks like blue lightning along with Asus' Republic of Gamers symbol. The lid hinges seem to be solid, although the lid itself has a bit of flex as I opened it. I haven't tested to see how well the screen is protected yet. The keyboard is my first experience with a chiclet-style. It seems to be very solid, but I'll test it more later. When you first start it up, it finishes installing Vista with your choice of computer name, logon & password, & desktop background. After that, it says it's installing all the proprietary Asus applications. I didn't time it, but it felt like this last step took a long time (10-20 minutes). That's as far as I've gotten with it so far.
