function key and video display

Some how I have hit a function that stops the normal lcd display after the bios screen. I know a simple function key combination resets this; however I have failed to recall the exact combination. Help I have a brain vaper lock right now.

Meaning it goes black at Windows loading screen?

Believe it or not. Took the battery out of the laptop and powered it up without it. Everything worked fine. Placed battery back in the laptop and all is still working fine.

Thanks to a tech that suggested that the machine does not need a battery to power up.

Lets hope it is not the battery and ism just the connections. New batteries are hard to find.

Thanks for the feedback. Sounded like a static block-up somewhere before that was able to fix with removing the battery. Brilliant.
