2009,a bad year for pc gaming??

I've only bought 2 games in 2009,empire total war and Fear2 ,which I disliked compared to the first one and expansion's.

What's everybody bought in 2009 and enjoyed,no one seem's to be talking about any games with misty eye's so far this year?

Apart from Empire,I spent any free time this year playing old game's from 2008 and back.

This is a great point. It has been a weak year for PC gaming. Most of the big titles that came out were also on console, and maybe played a bit better on console.

My completed list of games this year are:

Call of Duty 5: World at War (PS3)
Dead Space (PS3)
Killzone (PS2)
Killzone 2 (PS3)
Prince of Persia (PS3)
Resident Evil 5 (PS3)

I hav bought ZERO PC games this year. And the only PC game I am waiting for is STALKER CoP.

Everything else I have wanted to play has been on PS3 and frankly its much better. I think Consoles have finaly caught PC's and might have even passed them. So much easier to use and they look the same. To me at 1080p is perfect. I don't care about 20000000x2000000 with AFx10000 and AAx1000000 it makes no difference that I can see.

graphics wise there is still a big difference. And I was going to buy Alan Wake, SC2 and DIII this year on PC. Those would have surely made up for the drought on PC. But all of them I believe are coming out in 2010.

Not that I can see Steve. There may be precived differeance but I can't tell.

I wish you'd compare playing Bioshock or Far Cry 2 on the PS3 then look at it on PC. The difference is staggering.

Yes there are a few Quick Time events.

Don't know much about others, but 2009 for me so far is a very hard year with many events in the family, to even have time to go out chasing new games.

cheers ...

Yes,I have my own sob story for 2009,watching the company I worked for 18 year's being systematically destroyed by one person's bad decision's,losing my job, finding out the mortgage insurance I'd paid 10k for over the last 5 years not covering the circumstance's,not being able to find a job, spending every last cent saved on living expenses....only being able to find a poorly paid job that I am overqualified for and will hate....I start tomorrow......I consider myself lucky compared to a lot of other's

It still would have been nice to have some good game's out for pc though,it's a good place to go and rest the brain for a few hour's

Anybody tried Cryostasis?
Sorry to hear about the job. I'm sure you'll find a better one.

I read some reviews for cryostasis on gamespot and a european website and the reviews are not so good. I still have dead space and fallout 3 on the shelf. I started playing them but didn't really appeal to me. Wolfenstein will come out tomorrow I guess and I might try it.

Hey wallypa,thanks for your thought's.

Yes I read around a bit that cryostasis isn't that great, pity about that because the basic story of it sounded ok.

Will probably try wolfenstein also
