Internal Hard-Disk used Externally via usb [Not Recognized after Clonning]

Hi,

I using an ACER Aspire 7520 Laptop.

I have desktop internal hard-drive that I use as an external hard-drive via usb/sata cable.

Recently I cloned my Internal laptop hard drive to the desktop internal hard drive that I mentioned above, but the problem is that whenever I connect the desktop hard-disk again to my laptop via usb/sata calbe the drive doesn't show up, it is detected by the BIOS and Windows Device manager but it doesn't show up along my laptop internal hard drive with an independent letter like it used to before I made the cloning.

Any one has any idea of what I'm doing wrong.

Thanks.

My guess is that the system sees the internal as another bootable device/disk that can't be boot up via USB connection.

Try hooking up this external to another comp's USB port.

What do I accomplish by doing that?

If the drive is being recognized from another comp USB port then it is likely that your Acer is seeing the drive as a bootable device as mentioned in my post#2

May be this will give you an idea...
Teh TOSHIBA is my laptop internal hard drive.
The WDC is recognized but it doesn't appear along side the Local Disk(C:.) as an independent letter that i can access to store data etc...

Yes. I see this before.

The clone drive is being flagged as a bootable device/"sector" within the same comp. Try it on another comp and see if you can access the drive from there for adding data.

Never mind I fixed it, I went to disk management and I found that the drive was "offline" so I changed it to "online" and it came back instantly.

Thanks 4 all the suggestions.
