HP dv6565us messed up! Help!

A year ago something odd happened. The soundcard just turned off, the computer crashed and turned off. When it was back up, the soundcard could not be founded anymore, and i've got like fourty "Unknow Device on High Definition Audio Bus" on my device manager.

Like that:

I've tried everything, used all the recovery options from hp, even the restoration to the recorded image of the system. Tried to reinstall all drivers and nothing solved.

The system kept throwing windows nonstop. Like that:

So, what i did was just disabling the High Definition Audio Bus on System Device, and bought an Usb external sound card. Ok, its working great, BUT, i obviously dont get any sounds from the internal notebook speaker or microphone. And neither the mute light, on quickplay buttons, works. Its red all the time. Muted or not.

BUT, i want to give this notebook to my wife, but i still use this external soundcard for my musical recordings. So i really needed to figure out a way to solve this. I've contacted the HP Support Staff, none of them could help me. Warranty was over months before the problem. Obvioulsy. =/

So, anyone have any suggestions?
PLEASE, help me. It has been a constant struggle, but its the first time I ask for help in a forum.

(btw, im brazilian, and i dont know if i was clear about the problem)

Help me, i'll thank you forever.
Thanks!

Your OS? Have you looked at some stickies in NBF regarding High Definition Audio issues and inputs?

It could be a simple thing as a driver after latest Windows update.

im going to install now this realtek driver.

since i've installed a ton of drivers, including from hp, and none of them worked, lets hope this one does.

btw, forgot to mention, fingerprint reader does not work either.
It recognizes the hardware, but it just cant be used.

It didnt work...

Same error messages..

I dont know if its useful to inform, but when i was using the Remote Access to another computer, when i get some sound from there, my notebook speaker beeps. just BEEP!, but its a sign that its not dead. So, it gets even more confusing ;S

What can I do now?

I found this one on the HP support site. Want to give it a shot if you have not done so?

Hey, i've been disconnected these days. Got it back this morning. But...

No results.
Those troubleshootings clears only problems when the device is being recognized by the system.

But this is what i get:

And do you know what sucks more? There is no authorized service in my state. And obviously my lame warranty doesnt cover even the smell. <sadly lol>

I didnt want to hand my notebook to some guy who just claims to know a lot. And I'm afraid to be charged overpriced, since the value of it has fallen down tremendously.

So... is there anything else we can try? =/

Thx for all the help, btw.

After a long time trying everything, i restored the notebook by reformatting to factory defaults.

The fingerprint device is now working again, but, the sound problem remains. Thats a nightmare =/.

I could get some more info about it, just doesnt know if it is useful:

but could not find the driver software it needs to make the device usable.
Each device manufacturer typically includes driver software of a CD that

Can someone help? =/

After restoring to factory default, have you tried again with updating all drivers found on HP site for your model and OS?

Hello friend,

ive tried that now, still, same problem..

I guess its a hardware failure, which would be devastating, cause thats means money out of my pocket =(
post #14 of 20
I am not convinced yet that it is a hardware failure since it recognizes the presence of the device.

Try again with a modem driver from HP site?

Why don't you try running linux and see if the sound issue is resolved? If not, you have a hardware issue obviously
