Enabling PhysX? (M1730)

Hi all,

I recently received my beast as a replacement under my CC warranty, and I just have a quick question about my PhysX card.

I have a dedicated PhysX card, do I just enable it by going into the nVidia Control Panel then choosing "SetPhysX GPU Acceleration"? Or is there some dedicated program or area of the nVidia Control Panel that I'm missing?

Done from control panel as far as I know

One of the best ways to handle physx is to use video drivers that don't come with the drivers, like DOX optimized drivers from laptopvideo2go and then installing the Physx drivers separately so that they have their own control panel.

Installing Physx drivers is a bit tricky though. You need to start with 8.09.04, then install 8.10.13, then 8.11.18, There's also the newest 9.09.0428 drivers to install at the end.

After all than, make sure you have physx acceleration turned off in the video card contol panel (Physx GPU acceleration); that's for using a graphics card as a physx processor. Then enable Physx in the Physx control panel. Grab a demo like the water particle demo to test that everything is working.

Worked like a charm, I really appreciate the help.

Thanks.
