M1710 & windows 7

I'm About to take the plunge and dump xp for windows 7 rc. The only thing putting me off is reading reports of windows 7 installing wrong video drivers and frying the card.

I think alot of these issues may be down to aero running the card more and the notebook being not cooled properly due to dust build up?

So any success stories or word of wisdom before I go ahead?!

Cheers guys.

I'm guessing the reports are talking about drivers that do not incorporate powermizer. Powermizer is a setting that allows your card to run in 2D mode until extra power is needed and then 3D mode (higher clockrates, more heat) is set. I'm not sure how to make sure powermizer is working in Windows 7 but I'm sure its simple. RivaTuner may be the program you want to verify your clockrates with. Anyway, simply not using powermizer does not guarantee your card will fry. In fact, I've had powermizer off for extended amounts of time with no repercussions.
