Power Plan Controversy

After some research, I've found that the Balanced Power Plan is equal, if not better, in performance while also saving power.

the "Balanced Power Plan" option is also tweaked by many manufacturers by default since they will assume most people will leave the settings alone. its possible the gains you see are from the tweaks and switching out to the windows default reverts changes optimized by the companies we get the computers from. Dell and HP are prime examples of this.
