Dell System Restore

Alright so a friend of mine has screwed his up somehow and I'm wondering how to fix it? I have DSRFIX and all that, and even know what the problem is...

Somehow he has messed up the order of his partitions. This is his order...

1 Windows
2 Dell Utilities
3 Dell System Restore

It SHOULD be...

1 Dell Utilities
2 Windows
3 Dell System Restore

Is there any way to change the order of the partitions on the HD? (I can completely wipe out Windows as an option, that's no problem, although I would like not to have to destroy one of the Dell partitions)

Thanks, .

I might be wrong, but the order of the partitions should not make any differences. Try re-installing Windows?

cheers ...

According to DSRFIX, Dell Utilities has to be PBR1, Windows PBR2, Dell Restore PBR3.

My drive letters are all screwed up too ( I've reformatted Windows twice, and it keeps defaulting to Drive D: instead of C: ).

When I'm at the Windows Reinstall screen ( or DISKPART command screen ) it says that Dell Utilities is PARTITION 1 and Dell System Restore is PARTITION 3. That combined with the fact that it keeps making Windows drive D: makes me think Dell Utilities is really still on the first partition, but it's confused .

IN OTHER WORDS

The problem is that right now in DSRFIX it says "PBR1 is not fat16" (because it's NTFS, Windows), however it says that "PBR3 is fat32, label is DellRestore." When I delete the Windows partition, it says "PBR1 is fat16, label is DellUtilities" but "PBR3 is not fat32."

I need to figure out a way to get Windows to go between them, not in front of them.

I got no clue then. Strange that the partition order was being changed though.

Just to make it more clear here is a picture of what it SHOULD look like...

Yet mine has the Utility Partition @ 2 and Windows @ 1. I just figured out how to fix the drive letters (It has to do with the "Active Partition" thing there, changed NTFS to 80 and it's now the C drive again) but the order is still wrong.
