my compaq presario v3000 unable to perform restart. whenever this activity proceed, it's en up with black screen. anybody can asist

Meaning you can only shut it down and restart it from cold?

I would personally defrag and run a chkdsk first.

i've tried but only attempt once and for second time doesn't work. but i'm yet to repair the masterboot.
