Vista Wi-Fi Adapter problem

Thread Starter
When I first start up my laptop, the Wi-Fi does not work properly. The Network and Sharing Center shows that I am connected to my pasword protected wireless router, however windows is unable to load any pages. If I have windows "diagnose" the situation, it replies there are no problems detected, however if I want I can reset the network adapter. When I reset the network adapter, the wi-fi connection works for about 5 minutes, and then the problem returns. Any suggestions what might be causing this problem.

Fixes tried so far:
I have reloaded my wi-fi connection several times. My router works fine for other laptops in my house. And my laptop works fine with the router when it is hard wired to the router.

System:
I have a Sony Vaio VGN-NW150J using Vista Home premium Version 6.0 (build 6001) with service pack 1. My network adapter is an Intel wifi link 5100 AGN with driver 12.1.0.1.14 which the most current driver available. My ethernet controller is a Marvell Yukon 88E8057 PCI E Gigabit Ethernet Contoller with driver 10.66.4.3. which is the most current driver as well.

Can anyone offer a solution?

Thanks

Is this driver direct from Sony eSupport or you had it manually installed?

Run a virus scan?

cheers ...
