Looking for a French QWERTY keyboard for my Inspiron 1501

Hi guys,

Pretty straight forward, do you know where I can get a French QWERTY keyboard for my Inspiron 1501?

It would be pretty handy for me as I live in Quebec but did not have the need for a French keyboard when I bought it in 2007.

Checked Ebay but nothing at this time.

Changing the keyboard seem pretty simple (video on YouTube).

By the way, is there a place to find out where Dell certified service centers are located in Canada?

I was going to say Ebay lol....

I checked a few places i know and no french KB...I would keeo an eye on Ebay.

you can always try Dell spare parts as well.


yes changing the KB is a easy task.

last Dell has a repair facility in the Tornonto area, not sure if they have any others.

In the mean time you can try some keys stickies/covers/lay over.

I have added French Canadian language to my preferences and can switch easily at the bottom right between English and French. I then get these these signs in Frenc: àçèéê ....

Just got to remember which keys give what signs ...

Correct. I have a Medion with a French keyboard, loaded with German XP and most of my works are in English

The key labels save me lots of time.
