9300 mic question

I bought skype for 12 months to use with my laptops (9300 and 700m).. I was testing on the 9300 and noticed that the mic was not working as no one can hear me. I checked the microphone setting and it is on and turned up to the max. Am I missing something or is the mic crappy? I am assuming it does have a mic...right?

I dont believe the 9300 has a mic but a mic jack so you can plug in your own headset or mic.

Ugg...really? So thats it. I was going crazy trying to get the mic working. Thats pretty sad that a laptop does not have a built in mic. Is that the case with most laptops? BTW my 700m is having the same "problem". I don't have a head set. I guess I will have to use more cell minutes on conference calls tomorrow.

New notebooks offer built-in mic, but not on all models. Check the specs that is all I can suggest. But I still prefer an external mic, the built-in is convenient, but not always performing up to par.

you can always look into a Blue tooth option as well if the 9300 supports it
