Well, problem solved, I guess. The cute little Netbook died of a sudden complete HD failure, so Acer will replace it. I bought it for a trip we're leaving on right away, so I ended up buying another new one, the 10.1 this time. It had the option of burning a recovery disc, but required NINE CDs to do the job. I figured I'd take my chances without doing that! I'll sell the 8.9 on eBay when it comes back from Acer, and I will NEVER, EVER buy another refurb computer. I used to buy everything refurb for the last 20 years or so, never had a problem. But this is the third HD failure on a refurb laptop now, all in the last year. The other two were a Toshiba and a Dell XPS M1530.
