This is an interesting point. I have not yet try gaming under W7, but everything I heard so far is positive - meaning it is better than under XP, using the same machine specs that can support W7.

Windows 7 is supposed to be "better for gaming" then vista.

Keyword Steve - "supposed". Now they need us to confirm it, at least here at NBF

there are some optimizations and changes to the 7 system architectures over Vista, so it should give better performance than Vista, and in some cases better performance then XP. for other cases less than XP, but should still be better than 7.

Vista had some major architecture changes to a lot of stuff. They've had a good period of time since Vista RTM to improve and streamline those, really tightening them up to be killer. I'll be keeping Vista on my notebook for a while, because of some problems with Beta and RC (namely that it didn't turn on any hardware every other boot) and because of my development environment and how deep into the project I am currently, but I'll be using my extra partition for the 7 house party and I'll do some direct benchmark comparisons before I format it again

Funny that the disks are in German, even though they have been sent out from USA.

Something tells me you have the German Language edition. Better have the English Language Pack handy.

I wanted the German language edition for my German system. I am glad that they sent it out correctly, was concerned a bit when seeing that the package came from USA.

I already ordered the ones in English from Amazon long ago.

I really like it. I was skeptical at first but when I saw the difference in resource useage versus Vista, it made a believer out of me.
