Just ordered a M17X - Page 2

do you not think that within 3 or 4 years use the laptop will simply wear out?

the 3 or 4 year waranty is worth it.

besides when they change the system the waranty is added on to the new machine. say you have 1/1/2 years left they add 2years to new spec. anyway they do in europe!

it really is a no brainer

The warranty also adds to the re-sale value of the laptop, that and the Complete Care options covers accidents and breakage, that alone is worth it, you never know when sh!t will happen, than you just saw $3K go down the drain

I just priced out an AW M17x- Its $400-$600 more on top of the price to cover the laptop for 3-4 years. How many people are going to have accidents?! I highly doubt every person paying that money is going to have issues- I am just saying, that extended warranty you are purchasing is purely profit for the company until you actually use it, and from surveys taken annually people just do not use the warranty they purchase. More often than not people who purchased the warranty do not even get their return on it.

IF DELL/AW were to lower the cost of warranty THEN maybe I would agree, but to add a SMALL LAPTOP/NETBOOK cost on top of my already expensive laptop, to be covered just incase?! No, Thank you.

Just my opinion. I have had my AW m15x for more than a year- Works perfect, upgraded to an SSD, works even better now (NO EXTENDED WARRANTY PURCHASED). And in a month or so I will be purchasing a new M17x, unless of course they announce a new M15x.

Now, he asked a simple question, he has answers from both side of the house- so lets stop hijacking his post.
