My Sony Nightmare. VGN-AW190

Thread Starter
Intro

I do video editing, and wanted a nice desktop in a small package. I plug this laptop via hdmi up to a 24 inch Samsung lcd, but the 18inch was attractive, since I could view nice wide screen video

Specs:

I bought the stock VGN-AW190
What's in the Box:

Laptop, Manual, Battery, and power cord

Design

The look and feel are stunning. I love the full keyboard with the number pad. I also liked where the power is connected, on the hinge.

Screen:

Nice viewing angle, the look of the video is really nice.

Keyboard

Love the feel of the keyboard, the raised keys were nice.

Touchpad

Touch pad is off to the left, it should be center or on the right. I'm not left handed.

Features:

Multimedia Keys

Nothing special.

LEDS

The Leds are subtle, but since I'm having issues with my machine, I can't judge the actual normal functioning.

Wifi

Yeah, the wifi is fine.

Speakers

The sound is a little less than my HP with altec lancing speakers, but I didn't buy it for premium sound.

Input and Output Ports

Webcam Pictures

Built in nice web cam.

Right Side:

Need more usb ports

Left Side:

See above.

Software

not too much bloatware.

Accessories

No.

Pros: In list form, summarize the pros

*On the face, the thing is huge, and a good desktop laptop.
*When running well, it has little problems with my video processing.
*It's beautiful, did I mention huge.

Cons:

*I am sending mine back to Sony for the second repair at their repair station, I have also had another mother board installed on location, and another onsite repair of the keyboard plate. I've installed the drivers five times, reformated twice, and my volume up, down, mute and eject button don't work. I'm in my 2nd month of trying to get Sony to replace the laptop but they want to keep wasting time with repairs and putting my business behind schedule. It's my first and last Sony laptop, their customer service sucks.

Conclusion:
